5 Playgrounds Picks & Features to Explore (no H2O)

Chicago - Are you ready to explore & play outside? There is no better way to kick off spring than a "trip" to a new Chicago Playground. NOTE: Depending on your child, the weather, and your mood - these playgrounds do NOT have a water features to fenagle.
5 Spring Play(ground) Picks - the perfect way to play(ground) out those rainy day blues!
#1. Portage Park Playground (4100 N Long Ave. (Central and W. Irving Park))
Check out: Canoe structures, “Kids Only” clubhouse and ample new climbing equipment for all ages. Gardens, a pool, running/ walking paths, baseball diamonds and basketball courts make this a great spring or summer destination.
#2. Mary Bartelme Playground (115 S. Sangamon St (at Adams west of Halsted))
Check out: The MOST unique, amazing climbing structures in the city. Enough said.
#3. Kosciuszko Playground (2732 N. Avers Ave. (at Pulaski and Diversey))
Check out: Beautiful playground and ample green space, as well as tennis courts, basketball courts, baseball diamonds and walking and running paths.
#4. Cotton Tail Playground (Address: 44 W 15th St. (2 blocks south of Roosevelt and just west of State St.))
Check out: View of the skyline from a southern angle, while your kids play on the all ages climbing structures, a pirate ship and in the huge sandbox. Ample green space adds more outdoor playtime fun.
#5. Margate Playground (4921 N. Marine Drive (between Lawrence and Foster, just west of Lake Shore Drive))
Check out: Pretend “dock” with stone water creatures waiting on lily pads. This spacious playground may possibly have the most climbing structures (for all ages) I have seen yet. In additional there is a fieldhouse with a bathroom and ample green space to get all that pent up rainy day energy out.
