We have on the go Chicago’s top picks for this weekend - August 4 & 5 - events that are just perfect for your family's city adventures!

From puppet shows and concerts to making art and getting crafty, family fun abounds all over Chicagoland!  Grab the kids, and go have some kid-sized fun!

#1 Kids DIY Workshop

  • Home Depot - Chicagoland
  • Saturday, 9am-12pm
  • FREE
  • 5-12 years

FREE hands-on workshops designed to teach children do-it-yourself skills, tool safety and instill a sense of pride and accomplishment. All kids get to keep their craft and receive a FREE Kids Workshop Apron.

#2. Wrigleyville Summerfest

  • 3300 N. Seminary
  • Saturday & Sunday, 12pm-10pm
  • $5
  • All ages

Fun will be had by the entire family at this Chicago Streetfest.  Don't miss the Kids' Zone with inflatables, carnival rides, games, arts & crafts and so much more!

#3. Laura Doherty Concert

  • Wilmette Theatre
  • Saturday, 10-11am
  • $12
  • All ages

Dance and sing along to one of Chicago's favorite kindie folk music artist, Laura Doherty.

#4. Art Glass Done Wrigth

  • Frederick C. Robie House
  • Saturday, 10am-12pm
  • $5 suggested donation
  • ages 7+

After a brief tour of the Robie House art glass windows, participants will be guided in creating their own art glass designs using tracing paper, colored pencils, construction paper, and examples of Wright’s work. 

#5. Magic Boat Puppet Show

  • Wicker Park
  • Sunday, 11am-12:30pm
  • FREE
  • All ages

Head on down to beautiful Wicker Park for a FREE puppet show, music, dance and visual arts. The event is a collaboration between Magic Boat, Evolve Dance, Easel Art and Cultural Lady.
