Being a Parent = Being a Master at Multitasking

Like most parents I know, I try to jam as many things into a day (and, lets face it, night) as humanly possible.  There never seems to be enough time in a day to get all of my work and chores done, while still making time for fun!

That is why I LOVE it when I can get something I need done, while still having fun with the kiddos.  Play time for the kiddos…check.  Weekly trip to the grocery store…check. Hooray, everyone is happy.

Here are some ideas on how you can infuse some kid-s...

Get Your Girls in the Game!

Get Your Girls in the Game!

Introducing your daughters to sports at a young age

When it comes to introducing young girls to sports play, I constantly hear “in due time.” Many parents, park districts/community programs and pre-schools seem to have this idea that an early introduction to sports isn't necessary.  While this does not shock me, what does cause surprise is the suggestion to wait until 3rd or 4th grade.  However, I strongly believe that the earlier you encourage...

Recruit Little Helping Hands This Thanksgiving

The air these days is heavy with anticipation. Trees are arriving by the truckload, Starbucks is playing holiday music, and the rest of the retailers have festooned their walls with garland and Christmas baubles.

Hang on. What date is it again?

It’s easy to get caught up in the holiday madness. It’s all so sparkly, so festive. To borrow a line from of my favorite Yuletide ditties, “we [all] need a little Christmas,” especially in these uncertain and troubled times.

I get i...

Playdate of the Month: November Gratitude Gathering

As a parent, there is so much more to be thankful for than I ever realized before I became one almost five years ago. Itʼs all about the simple things from being well, to making new friends, and the cutest things our children say and do every day.

This month, I was inspired by my girlfriends who I share so many great, { and no so great}, daily moments with just being moms. The women whoʼs smiles, coffee breaks, advice, thoughtfulness, and play dates all help all make “our worlds” go ro...
